Welcome to Blog-Flower: a small handmade brand in the sprawling city of Los Angeles

We've been meaning to write this blog for years now. All it took was a (few) little pushes from our friends at Websideman to get the ball rolling. I will pretend that we're writing to actual readers and not just Google's robots that are crawling our website for ranking it on search engines 😅.

Ever since Oddflower Creations sprouted from the ground in 2020, I've been silently chronicling the trials and tribulations of running a small business that values handcrafted over mass-produced, quality over quantity, work-life balance, and the challenge of creating items that are not only beautiful but also don't destroy our beautiful planet. It's been a challenge, but we are getting there. It would be a lie to say we haven't lost a few nights of sleep due to thinking about the state of consumerism and the fashion industry in America.

Kelly, Oddflower's multilingual word wizard, will craft most of the exciting pieces you'll read in this blog. I know you'll love reading her pieces not only because they'll be witty but they'll also be thought-provoking. Here are a few things that you can expect in upcoming Blog-Flower posts:

- Honest conversations about what Slow/Sustainable fashion means and its problematic nature
- Unbelievable interactions with customers at markets that both make you believe in humanity and also want to die of awkwardness 😅
- How to build brand community in a culture of ruthless competition and everyone is copying off each other
- Tips and tricks to dress fun and stylish without always buying new things
AND SO MUCH MORE

Lastly, this blog will always be a welcoming place for everyone. As a neurodivergent person, it'll be nice to have a place to write free from academia's judgmental eyes. So please bear with me if you see any spelling or grammatical errors 🙃

With love,
Amber
